Planning calendar
IB Student Opportunity Calendar
Use upcoming deadlines to plan a realistic application calendar. The list updates from IBLighthouse’s reviewed, currently open catalogue.
How to use this calendar
Start with deadlines, but do not choose an opportunity only because it is still open. Check whether the work matches your interests, fits your weekly capacity and leaves enough time for a thoughtful submission.
- Shortlist opportunities that fit your grade and intended subjects.
- Work backwards from each deadline and identify the actual submission steps.
- Keep space for school assessments, exams and rest.
- Ask a parent or teacher for help only where you genuinely need it.

Build a manageable shortlist
For most students, a small number of well-chosen activities is more sustainable than a crowded calendar. Consider the time required, the quality of the learning and whether you would still value the experience without an award.
